The historic wine trading town is located in the far west of the Nuremberg metropolitan region and in the south of the Mainfranken regiopolitan region. Kitzingen is located in the Maingau climate zone, the driest area in Bavaria, which, together with the shell limestone soils, particularly favors viticulture here.

For leisure activities in nature, on foot, by bike or by car, the nearby low mountain region of the Steigerwald as well as the Maindreieck are particularly suitable. There is a well-developed network of cycling and hiking trails. The Main capital of Würzburg is easily accessible by public transportation and car in less than half an hour. Nuremberg can be reached by train or car in just over an hour.

With its 500 kilometers, the MainRadweg leads from the Fichtelgebirge past Franconian Switzerland, the Steigerwald and the Haßberge into the Franconian wine. From there, it continues into the Spessart region and on to the Hessian Lower Main. And pretty much in the middle of it all is Kitzingen in the Franconian wine region. As a base, the Hotel Cavallestro offers not only overnight accommodations, but also a rich gastronomic and leisure offer. You can stay here for a short time, continue cycling the next day or simply stay with us for a few days and explore the area. Excursions to the wine-growing areas of the Maindreieck in the Steigerwald or also a visit to the Main capital Würzburg are possible.

It doesn’t matter if you are more of a culture lover or rather looking for a balance in nature. Kitzingen offers something for everyone if you want to explore the district on foot. The dream rounds are the “icing on the cake” of the hiking trails in the Kitzinger Land and combine the advantages of the Franconian wine region – views of the Main – and the Steigerwald with each other. All 15 rounds have their very own charm. They run along natural paths and little asphalt, lead to magnificent vantage points and past cultural and scenic treasures. They are especially designed for hikers who prefer a high experience value. They are suitable for half-day and day tours.

Experience the cultural and natural landscapes of the Franconian wine country and the adjacent Steigerwald. For small groups (approx. 8 – 12 people) we offer guided e-bike and hiking tours through one of the most charming natural and cultural landscapes in Germany with our partner Hikes & Bikes. Each tour is planned and guided by us for different levels of fitness.

For groups or as a team event:
Archery is always a highlight for young and old. We have built a small outdoor facility for this purpose, where our trained bow instructor also introduces children to the world of intuitive archery with high-quality equipment. Concentration, body awareness and fun: There is hardly any other sport that combines so many things as archery! Team events can also be booked indoors in case of bad weather.
